Guri Sohi has been at the university since 1985 and is a John P. Morgridge Professor and E. David Cronon Professor of Computer Science. His speciality is computer architecture: the design of computer hardware. His research has been in the design of high-performance microprocessors and computer systems. Results from his research can be found in almost every high-end microprocessor in the market today. He has taught classes ranging from introductory freshmen to advanced graduate and many former students are employed in leading computer companies. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
