Setup in 2000, BITS-Pilani, Dubai Campus, or BPDC as it is fondly called, the international campus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani is one of the largest and the only institution exclusively dedicated to Engineering and Technology education in Dubai. It attracts a large number of students from UAE, other GCC countries, Asia, Africa and Far East.

Accommodating over 1700 students are admitted from more than 20 countries worldwide, the vibrant campus in Dubai’s Academic City has state-of-the art infrastructure with smart classrooms and teaching lab facilities. A significant addition is the multi-crore, state-of-the-art high-definition video conferencing facility, that forms part of BITS Connect. The Institute has also collaboration with over 300 reputed companies across UAE to offer internship to the students.

BPDC Alumni have done exceptionally well in all spheres of life and hold leading positions in diverse fields in UAE and across the world. Many alumni are also successful entrepreneurs.

Dubai has emerged as a global city and business hub of the Middle East

Dubai is located on the Eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, in the south west corner of the Arabian Gulf. The local currency is the dirham, which is pegged at AED 3.67 to 1 US dollar. Dubai is tolerant and cosmopolitan and all visitors are welcome.

Dubai is one of the seven emirates which constitute the United Arab Emirates others being Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajamn, Umm al Quwaim, Ras Al Khiamah and Fujairah. Well known tourist and adventure spots across the Emirates include Burj Khalifa – the tallest Tower in the world and Global Village in Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Louvre and Guggenheim Museum in Abu Dhabi, Cultural centres in Sharjah, Bird Watching in Ras Al Khaimah, Mountains in Fujairah. The BITSAA Global Meet will be falling amidst the month long Dubai Shopping Festival – a shoppers paradise across the city in it’s various malls and stores.

United Arab Emirates is extremely well known for its warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage, and the Emirati people are welcoming and generous in their approach to visitors. With year-round sunshine, intriguing deserts, beautiful beaches, luxurious hotels and shopping malls, fascinating heritage attractions and a thriving business community, Dubai receives millions of leisure and business visitors each year from around the world.

Dubai enjoys an arid subtropical climate, with blue skies and sunshine all year round. The hottest months are between June and September whereas the coolest time is between December and March. There is very little rainfall in Dubai, but when showers do fall it is mainly in the cooler months.
